Services

Adolescent Therapy

Adolescence is a period of rapid emotional, relational and neurological change. Many teens experience increased stress related to academic expectations, peer relationships, family dynamics and identity development. Therapy provides a structured space where adolescents can slow down, better understand their experiences and develop practical skills for managing emotions and relationships. I work with adolescents ages 12–18 who may be experiencing:• Anxiety, persistent worry or emotional overwhelm
• Anger, withdrawal or difficulty communicating
• School stress, burnout or motivation challenges
• Emotional regulation difficulties
• Identity exploration and self-esteem concerns
• Executive functioning challenges such as organization, focus and follow-through
I have a particular interest in supporting boys and young men, who often face unique barriers to seeking help. I’m also the founder of The Mind Mentor, a coaching program for adolescent boys focused on executive functioning and performance skills, which is distinct from my psychotherapy practice.

Parent Consultation & Family Support

Supporting an adolescent often requires involvement from parents or caregivers. I offer consultation sessions to help families better understand developmental challenges, improve communication and create more sustainable environments for growth. Parent consultations may focus on:• Understanding adolescent emotional development
• Supporting executive functioning and motivation
• Navigating conflict or communication challenges
• Strengthening family relationships

Individual Therapy for Young Adults

I also work with young adults navigating the transition into adulthood. Many clients seek support during periods of change related to identity, relationships, career direction or life stress. Therapy may address:• Anxiety, stress or emotional overwhelm
• Relationship patterns and attachment concerns
• Questions related to purpose, identity or direction
My approach to therapy is integrative, focusing on current life issues and relationships as well as challenges that originate from childhood experiences.

Couples & Relationship Therapy

Couples therapy can help partners better understand relational patterns, improve communication, and heal emotional disconnection. I work with couples experiencing:• Communication difficulties
• Emotional disconnection or recurring conflict
• Stress related to life transitions (parenthood, career changes, loss)
My work with couples is systems-based and emotionally focused, helping partners identify cycles, understand underlying emotions, and create new ways of relating to each other.

About

Pete Dymock, MS, AMFT
Supervised by Melissa Beck, LMFT #102947

I’m an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist with over a decade of experience working with children, adolescents and families. Before becoming a therapist, I spent twelve years as a K–12 educator, where I developed a deep understanding and appreciation of school environments, peer dynamics and developmentally-attuned support.I have a particular interest in supporting young men who are navigating challenges related to their identity, relationships and self-worth. I also work with teens of all genders and collaborate closely with families to support communication, alignment and consistency at home.Much of my work focuses on helping people move from patterns of emotional reactivity, disconnection or self-doubt toward greater awareness, confidence and trust, in themselves and others. I want therapy to be a place where you feel engaged, challenged and supported to be your most authentic self.

Training and Education

I hold a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from California State University, Northridge. My clinical training includes trauma-informed approaches such as Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT).I’m also trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples.
